Portage Trail Soccer Club will begin accepting online registration for
assessments/tryouts for certain age categories on January 22.

Online registration for assessments/tryouts will close on February 5, 2013. Please proceed to the PTSC website at

Outdoor Registration 2013

Portage Trail Soccer Club will begin accepting online registration for the 2013 Outdoor Season beginning on January 29, 2013.

LONG TERM PLAYER DEVELOPMENT UPDATE

The Winnipeg Youth Soccer Association is leading a special task force with the Manitoba Soccer Association to introduce new Long-term Player Development Guidelines. The new program starts with doing a better job of coaching our coaches, but it's end goal is better skill development and enjoyment of the game for children from age 4 up. Our ultimate goal is to improve skills and increase lifelong participation in soccer.

We've created a special newsletter with more information on this important initiative. A printed copy of the newsletter was distributed to every youth soccer team (recreational, developmental and premier-developmental) in the city. You can also download a PDF copy here.

The task force is meeting regularly now and expects to bring forth recommendations to the city's soccer community later this year.

TRAINING

Information on upcoming clinics is available on the MSA website. SCSA will once again be using the voucher system. You must have your voucher forms signed by the district and returned to MSA with your registration form in order to be considered registered for the clinic.

RESPECT IN SPORTS

This is a requirement for all coaches by the MSA. For information on Respect in Sport visit Sport Manitoba

Coaches are required to complete this on line course by June 30 for this Outdoor Season
Once you have completed this on line course please email info@stcharles-soccer.com The SCSA Program Coordinator with your Respect in Sport Certificate number so that it can be added to your coaches record.

RETURNING COACHES

Please send your TORF to info@stcharles-soccer.com ASAP. The SCSA Program Coordinator will let you know if there is any other information needed from you. If you want to get your Coach Clinics, please contact The SCSA Program Coordinator at info@stcharles-soccer.com for a Voucher to accompany your Registration to MSA.

GAME Cancellations: For Outdoor Games
Please note the following:
Every attempt will be made to post Game and Practise Field Cancellations on this site.
Regardless of the weather -If NO cancellation notice is posted, then report to your game as scheduled.
When in doubt, go to your game.
Game cancellations will also be noted on the district phone line 832-6499. If there is no message regarding a cancellation then go to your game as usual.
