Former Referees:
Please advise if you are still interested in being a referee in 2013. Go to the Alberta Soccer website and click on the "Referee" tab on the top right-hand corner. This will give you information about refresher course requirements and locations.
Potential Referees:
1. If you would like to be a referee please be email me with your name, email, contact phone number and your availability

Referee Age Minimum Increased to 14 - The Alberta Soccer Association has changed the minimum age requirement of referees from 13 years to 14 years. Referees must be at least 14 years of age by March 31, 2011 (i.e. born before April 1, 1996) to be a new ASA referee.
House Leage Referees- NEW!!!
If you are 12 or 13 years old you could become an OMSA Houseleage referee. This is a great way to earn some extra money while at the same time helping out the community. There is a small course for you to take to become a referee in OMSA house league.
This is for those under 14yrs old and want to referee mini soccer / house league / AR U-12
The course is the Look Sharp – Be Sharp program. It is an all day course with lots of time spent in the gym doing practical assignments – how to do
proper flag technique, blow your whistle, call a foul, start the game coin toss, etc. etc. Very practical – the basic tools to get started.
The participants will be granted an ASA referee badge
I HIGHLY recommend this for your beginners – get them through the practical LSBS course and get them started in local house league mini-soccer and the they can work up into the big field full course next year. … a great way to develop new referees.
