Team Travel to Tournaments Outside Alberta Alberta Soccer Association - Procedures for Team Travel Oustside of Alberta
Step 1 - If your team wishes to travel oustside of Alberta, a representative from your team must fill out a "travel to sanctioned tournament" request form.
Q - Where do I get the "travel to santioned tournament" request form?
A - You have two options:
1) The Alberta Soccer Association will provide your community/District soccer association with hard copy versions of the form on request.
or 2) Simply select this Travel Permit.
Step 2 - Once the form is filled out, the team representative must submit it to their District Association for approval. On approval, the District Association will then forward the request to the Alberta Soccer Association for ASA approval.
Q - What information do I need?
A - You will need the following information in order to properly complete the form:
- the name of the teams wishing to travel
- the name of the Distric the team belongs to
- the teams age / gender category (example: U-16)
- the full first and last name of the team's coach and manager - if applicable
- the address of the team's coach and manager - if applicable
- the complete name of the tournament the team wishes to travel to
- the date of the tournament
- the city and province the tournament is hosted in
- the name, address and phone number of a tournament contact
Step 3 - After receiving the request, Alberta Soccer will research the tournament to which the request relates. If the tournament is sanctioned, ASA will approve the request and fax it back to the District that initiated it. If the tournament is not sanctioned, ASA will not approve the travel request. Insurance coverage will not be provided if the team still chooses to travel.
Step 4 - If your team is travelling to play exhibition games or for training purposes, a detailed itinerary must acompany your request form. Please be sure to list all soccer related activites, times, dates and locations.
