IMPORTANT NOTES FOR PARENTS OF EMSA LEAGUE PLAYERS:

EMSA Player Cards
All Players and Coaches in U10 Development, and U16, U18 Community Teams require EMSA Player Cards prior to their first game.  All players holding current cards should have received them back from their Outdoor Coach at the end of the season.  You do not have to know which team you are on in order get a Player Card, and cards are valid for 3 years (with a $20 replacement fee if lost) It is the Player's responsibility to ensure they get a Player Card prior to the beginning of the season.  EMSA Carding dates will be available during SASA Registration, or you can visit www.edmontonsoccer.com in late August for a complete listing of Player Carding Dates.

All EMSA League games are played in Edmonton, with the occasional game in Spruce Grove possible

EMSA must support their facilities just as we must support ours, so any guest teams such as ours, playing in their league will play all games in Edmonton with the occasional game in Spruce Grove if they have a Spruce Grove team in their pool (as Spruce Grove is part of EMSA).  Practices will take place in St. Albert, but games rotate through the 3 Edmonton facilities.

Spectator Fee applies in all Edmonton Facilities
The Edmonton soccer facilities are not subsidized by the City of Edmonton.  In order to operate successfully, they have found it necessary to charge spectators an entrance fee over the years.   Parents may purchase a season's pass ($28), or they may pay the $4.00 entry fee each time they enter.  Children under 18 and seniors get in free.

Why do we put our teams in the EMSA League (Edmonton Minor Soccer Association League)

EMSA is an extremely well run league with many teams in each age group and tier.  As a result they have the ability to seed teams up and down based on their success, or lack of.   There is an inital random round, but after that - teams move up and down in competition, generally ending up in a very competitive group in their final round.    When you happen to be on a team that wins all games handily with no competition, or on a team that loses all games, sometimes by double digits - it can be a very long season.  You can appreciate what this ability to seed up and down means.  This has proven to be a great program with excellent and varied competition giving all of our teams and players a much better chance of  having fun and experiencing some success, so we are grateful the EMSA accepts outside teams into their league.

Visit the EMSA website regularly for updates all season long..  www.edmontonsoccer.com

We are looking forward to an exciting and enjoyable Indoor season and hope that you are too.
