Volunteer Bond Fee

Volunteer Bond (New in 2010)

Charleswood Youth Soccer is a volunteer based organization which runs a soccer program for approximately 1000 children. There are 12 volunteers on the executive board and every year more assistance is needed to run this program. Unfortunately, the executive must put in countless hours every year, as the required help never materializes.

Starting with the outdoor 2010 season we are implementing a "Volunteer Bond" which will be required from every family that registers their child/children in the soccer program.  At the time of registration you will be asked to submit a bond fee of $50.00.

1) You volunteer 2-4 hours for the organization, such as helping hand out equipment at a coach's meeting, or handing out drinks to children at the yearly Jamboree.
2) If you are asked to volunteer for a specific event and you refuse to do so, we will cash your cheque.
3) If you are never called to volunteer, your cheque will be shredded.

We hope that we can shred every single volunteer bond cheque.

The purpose of this volunteer bond is NOT to put more money in the organization's bank account (we are a non-profit organization).  It is to gain the required help that we need to run this program FOR YOUR CHILDREN.

Examples of other organizations asking for a volunteer bond fee are:
Charleswood Broncos - $200
Gateway CC Soccer - $185
Many community clubs do as well.
