Strongsville 224 and Brooklyn 221 requested to switch places (Strongsville from A3 up to A2, Brooklyn seeking to move down to A-3). Mentor 132 has requested reconsideration of denied petition to move from A-3 to B. Strongsville 318 also requesting review. Regular Season Scheduling: Saturday, Nov. 3 at Cleveland Heights Community Center. Will be in Senior Center, go to check in table at usual location. Bantams start at 8am, Peewees at 10:30 am, Squirts at 12:30 pm and Mites at 2:30 pm. Program Directors or someone from program will full season ice schedule for all teams must be in attendance all day in order to switch ice times between teams if necessary to schedule games. Each team must have someone in attendance with team’s full season ice times to schedule games. Team Manager or Coaches are preferred. Team reps must stay until printed schedules are distributed.

Teams with only 6 or 7 team within their division will determine number of games when they meeting on Saturday. Each division will have home and away games for each team, and can decide whether or not to schedule one additional game for each team.

Team Rosters are due to be turned in at Regular Season Scheduling and must be signed and stamped before first regular season game. Cathy Fievet, USA Hockey Registrar, will be on hand to collect rosters on Saturday.

Columbus BlueJackets team 303 had been determined to be over the limit of import players and are a select team. The team requested a waiver of the select team rule but waiver request was denied by the Board.

Player Release requirements were reviewed. Programs are asked to verify that all players new to the program who played with a different CSHL program last season have been officially released from their former program.

Game Cancellations: there were some problems during preseason. Teams were scheduling games they had no intent on playing (usually those against Columbus teams) and immediately cancelled those games during the free change period. Both teams must agree to change; when other team agreed to change if they could find another opponent, then could not fill the game, they were stuck with expensive full sheets of ice and lost needed RPI games. After free change period some teams tried to bypass getting head of program approval. In one case team just refused to communicate with other team after notifying them they could not make the game. This was a deliberate forfeit and this team will be fined or sanctioned.

Hockey Weekend in America Feb 15-17; USA Hockey has asked Districts to work with local programs to plan special events to celebrate our sport. Please send ideas to Terry Horonzy.

State Tournament application deadline for Peewee and Bantams is December 1st. Contact MidAm Registar Keith Kenitzer for more information.
